Love My Game Dress
Here’s what she had to say about her cute and comfortable gameday dresses:
How did you get started making Gameday Dresses?
I have always loved to sew. Over the years, I have had many different projects. This all started when my oldest daughter was getting ready to go to college, and someone gave her a game day dress. I thought, “I could do that.” So I started playing around with making dresses, and my daughters encouraged me to sell them. It started with friends, and then my daughters helped me set up an Etsy site. It has grown, and now, here I am 5 years and almost 1000 dresses later!
Do you plan on continuing making new dresses for the 2015 football season and will there be any new styles/patterns available?
I have started making dresses for the upcoming football season. Summer baseball is also a popular time for dresses. I always try to keep my styles up to date. There are a few classic styles, but it’s fun for me to create new styles. I always try to get ideas from whatever the current trend is. Many times I have borrowed a shirt or a dress from one of my girls to use it as a pattern. That is why I say my dresses are each one of a kind – because they truly are! Also, last year I added “boot stands” to my shop and plan to keep making them. They make great add ons!
What’s one thing you want women to know about your dresses?
I want women to feel confident, cute, comfortable and stylish in my dresses. I have had requests for dresses for all kinds of occasions, including a baseball wedding dress. I make each one with time and care, and I hope that when it is worn women (and girls!) feel beautiful!
What football team do you cheer for?
Well I went to LSU, so Geaux Tigers! But my husband and two daughters went to The University of Texas and the third daughter goes to Texas Tech, so Hook ‘em Horns and Wreck ‘em Tech!
